First Baptist Church Fairfield
First Baptist Church started as Macedonia Baptist Church in 1906. In 1935 the name was changed to First Baptist Church Fairfield. On March 17, 1975 the congregation entered the present edifice at 324 59th Street Fairfield, Alabama. From 1990 to present day First Baptist Church Fairfield has achieved various renovation upgrade and financial accomplishments. The Church Mortgage was paid off in 1993. An elevator was installed providing access to all three floors. The Church purchased a building at the corner of 60th Street and Ave. D. for the Outreach Ministry. At this location members and the community can receive assistance with utility payments, rent/mortgage payments and medication purchases. In 2013 the church sanctuary was refurbished. Lastly in 2021 the church was able to remodel the upstairs bathrooms, not only to modernize and beautify them but also to make them handicap accessible. The church is located only blocks away from Miles College. The church has approximately 420 members.

The Board of Deacons– Oversees the spiritual aspect of the Church and the financial responsibilities.
The Trustee Board– Is the administrative arm of the Church. The Trustee Board makes recommendations to the Board of Deacons for financial obligations and provides leadership for the maintenance of the church.
